K-Electric has formally notified the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) of a scheduled shutdown at the Dhabeji Substation and Grid Station for annual maintenance.

According to a KWSC spokesperson, K-Electric will carry out maintenance work on Thursday from 8am to 8pm. During this period, power supply to several feeders of the Dhabeji pumping station will remain suspended.

The spokesperson said the shutdown is expected to reduce the city's water supply by around 100 million gallons, affecting neighbourhoods such as Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, DHA, Chanesar Town, Jinnah Town, North Nazimabad, and Gulberg Town.

KWSC has urged residents to use water conservatively and prepare for possible temporary shortages during the maintenance period. Karachi receives about 650 million gallons of water daily; however, despite the expected shortfall, approximately 550 million gallons will still be supplied.
