Everything to know about Netflix's 'Sean Combs: The Reckoning' docuseries produced by 50 Cent

Netflix announced a four-part docuseries on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ music career and scandal that lead to his prison sentence for prostitution charges. 

Executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who is Diddy's longtime rival, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, is set to release on December 2.

The project aim to encompass Diddy's career, including his rise to fame as the founder of Bad Boy Records, and his decline due to several sexual assault lawsuits and criminal convictions.

Along with the synopsis and teaser trailer, Netflix heightened the anticipation for the series with the promise of “explosive, never-before-seen materials, including exclusive interviews with those formerly in Combs’ orbit”.

Emmy winner Alex Stapleton, who directs the project explained that it “isn’t just about the story of Sean Combs or the story of Cassie [Ventura],” but a “mirror [reflecting us] as the public, and what we are saying when we put our celebrities on such a high pedestal.”

Meanwhile 50 Cent, who planned on making a documentary on Diddy in December 2023, shared the series' poster on Instagram, writing, “They said I was capping, what happened?” The post featured 50 Cent's 2007 song “I Get Money,” featuring Combs, which includes the lyrics, “Diddy did it,” and, “My lawyer’s so good that Diddy got acquitted.”

50 Cent and Diddy have rivals since 2006, when the forner accused the latter of knowing Notorious B.I.G's killer., and for profiting off the late rapper’s legacy. Since DIddy's lawsuit, however, 50 Cent has targeted the rapper on social media more frequently.

Ealier this year in October, Diddy was sentenced in to 50 months in prison after a federal jury convicted him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution following a two-month trial.

Currently in FCI Fort Dix, he is scheduled to be released in May 2028, though he is attempting to appeal his convictions and is participating in a prison sobriety program to get an early release.
