Texas bank robber arrested after attempting heist at same branch he targeted in 2016
A Texas man was arrested after allegedly trying to rob the same Fort Worth Wells Fargo branch

A Texas man has been arrested after allegedly attempting to rob the same Fort Worth Wells Fargo branch he stole from nearly ten years ago. According to the Fort Worth Police Department, 43-year-old Christopher McKay entered the bank on November 20 and told employees he was armed, demanding cash from locked tills.
Police said McKay fled the scene without obtaining any money. Officers located him nearby and took him into custody. A department spokesperson told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that an ambulance was called because McKay was experiencing fentanyl withdrawals at the time of his arrest.
Authorities confirmed that McKay previously robbed the same bank branch in 2016, a crime for which he served seven years in prison. He now faces a new aggravated robbery charge, and as reported by the Star-Telegram, no bond has yet been set in Tarrant County Jail.
The attempted robbery occurred the same weekend another high-profile crime made headlines: San Francisco police reported that a thief posing as a courier stole $11 million in cryptocurrency, tying up the victim with duct tape before fleeing. No arrests have been reported in that case.
