Hatsune Miku tops 2025 poll, surpassing 'Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle'
Hatsune Miku’s latest win in JOYSOUND’s 2025 poll marks a new milestone, overtaking 'Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle'

Virtual idol Hatsune Miku has achieved another milestone in 2025, topping a major karaoke industry poll and surpassing the global anime hit Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle.
According to PR Times, XING Inc., which operates Japan’s leading karaoke brand JOYSOUND, conducted an official survey to identify the most supported artists and anime among its users.
The poll, conducted between September 19 and October 13 2025, gathered responses from 1,621 participants. Results released on November 4 revealed that Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! took first place in the anime and game category, ahead of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, which ranked fourth.
Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! has surpassed 39 million downloads worldwide and recently inspired Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing, released earlier this year. The win further cements Miku’s influence in both anime and music culture, with the Vocaloid icon continuing to lead in fan engagement.
Hatsune Miku, created from the voicebank of Japanese voice actress Saki Fujita, has been a defining figure in Vocaloid culture since her debut in 2007.
Her success includes thousands of fan-made songs, international concerts featuring her holographic performances, and extensive media adaptations.
Other titles in the 2025 JOYSOUND ranking included Ensemble Stars!! in second place and Touken Ranbu Online in third, both known for their strong musical themes. The same three franchises held the top spots in last year’s results as well.
Miku’s first feature-length film also found success internationally, earning US$2.8 million during its opening weekend in the United States—surpassing its domestic debut in Japan. Directed by Hiroyuki Hata and produced by P.A. Works, the film received a 95% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing continues to expand Miku’s legacy across music, animation, and virtual performance culture.
