Robert De Niro calls Donald Trump crazy during No Kings protest in United States

Robert De Niro criticised Donald Trump during recent “No Kings” protests held across the United States, describing the president as “crazy” while addressing concerns about the country’s political climate. The actor made the remarks following his participation in demonstrations on March 28.

Speaking with Al Sharpton on MS Now, De Niro commented on the scale and significance of the protests, suggesting they could influence upcoming elections.

“Our democracy is at stake, period. And this fool is taking it with the fools around him. It’s like a surreal dream; it’s crazy,” De Niro said. “We cannot let up until the midterms are resolved, and resolved for the right reasons. We cannot let up with this guy,” he added.

De Niro also accused Trump of attempting to “deflect” attention from the Epstein files. “If I know anything, I know this guy will try anything because he’s crazy. He’s not well. He’s a damaged person, period. You’ve got to stand up,” he said during the interview.

At a separate press conference linked to protests in New York, De Niro connected the movement’s message directly to Trump. “When the crowds are chanting ‘no kings,’ what I’m hearing, as we all know, is ‘no Trump,’” he stated. He further added, “None, except Trump. He must be stopped, and he must be stopped now.”

Reflecting on public turnout, De Niro acknowledged the scale of participation while expressing caution about optimism. “I don’t want to say the word ‘hope’ again that things will get even better and stronger, but it’s the only way we’re going to get out of this,” he said.

The “No Kings” protests have emerged nationwide, focusing on issues including immigration enforcement, healthcare access, environmental protections, gun control, and war funding.
