Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown has spoken out for the first time since his arrest in connection with a Miami shooting incident earlier this year.

Brown, 36, was taken into custody in New Jersey on Thursday and faces an attempted murder charge tied to a May altercation at a celebrity boxing event in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood.

Authorities allege Brown fired a gun during a dispute with attendee Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, grazing his neck and sparking chaos at the venue.

According to reports, Brown was extradited from Dubai, where he had been living, before being transferred to Florida to face the charges.

The former Pittsburgh Steelers star addressed the situation on X, writing that he had “handed over the keys to the socials and CTESPN to my team while I go through this fight for my innocence,” and thanked supporters for standing by him.

Brown has previously claimed he was attacked at the event, alleging multiple individuals tried to steal his jewelry and that police released him after hearing his account.

The case has been further complicated by Brown’s failure to comply with an earlier warrant issued in June, which required him to post a $10,000 bond and remain under house arrest pending a hearing.

A seven-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brown’s off-field controversies have long drawn public attention.
