Sarah Paulson in talks to play Aileen Wuornos in Monster season 4
Sarah Paulson is in final talks to play serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Netflix’s Monster season 4

Sarah Paulson is reportedly in final talks to join Ryan Murphy’s Monster anthology series on Netflix, where she would portray infamous serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster season 4.
The new installment will center on Lizzie Borden and her infamous axe murders, with production already underway in Los Angeles.
While Wuornos won’t be the primary focus of the season, her presence will reportedly connect Borden’s story to a broader exploration of female killers and their cultural impact — similar to how Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story examined the influence of real-life crimes on society.
Ella Beatty leads the season as Lizzie Borden, joined by Charlie Hunnam as her father Andrew Jackson Borden, Rebecca Hall as stepmother Abby, Billie Lourd as sister Emma, Jessica Barden as actress Nance O’Neill, and Vicky Krieps as the Borden family maid, Bridget Sullivan.
Aileen Wuornos was convicted of murdering seven men in Florida and executed in 2002. Her story inspired the 2003 film Monster, which earned Charlize Theron an Academy Award for Best Actress. Other actresses who’ve portrayed Wuornos include Lily Rabe, Jean Smart, and Peyton List.
Paulson’s casting would mark another reunion with Murphy, following their acclaimed collaborations on American Horror Story, Ratched, and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, for which she won an Emmy. She’s also set to return for American Horror Story season 13.
Outside of Murphy’s universe, Paulson is known for Mrs. America, Ocean’s 8, and 12 Years a Slave.
