Ariana Grande misses ‘Wicked: For Good’ Brazil premiere due to flight issues
Ariana Grande apologizes after missing the Brazil premiere of Wicked: For Good because of unexpected flight issues

Ariana Grande has apologized to fans after revealing she will miss the highly anticipated Brazil premiere of Wicked: For Good due to unforeseen flight complications.
The singer and actress, who stars as Glinda the Good Witch in the Jon M. Chu-directed sequel, shared the news in a heartfelt Instagram Story on Monday night.
“I can’t believe this is happening and I am beyond devastated to be sending this message,” Grande wrote, explaining that her team had to deplane when their aircraft required urgent maintenance. “It will not be taking off until 11 a.m. tomorrow, which means I would not make it in time for the Wicked: For Good São Paulo premiere.”

Grande emphasized that she and her team, along with Universal Pictures, explored every possible solution, including commercial and private flight options, but nothing could get them to Brazil in time. “We sincerely tried everything we could, and I apologize from the bottom of my heart,” she added.
The Grammy-winning star also urged fans to “shower my incredible castmates with all the love I wish I could be showering you with.”

Grande’s absence is especially notable given the massive success of 2024’s Wicked: Part One, which grossed over $756 million worldwide and earned 10 Oscar nominations, including one for Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress for Grande’s performance.
Despite the setback, fans can look forward to seeing Grande alongside Cynthia Erivo in Wicked: One Wonderful Night, a televised musical event premiering Thursday on NBC and streaming Friday on Peacock.
Wicked: For Good premieres in theaters November 21, 2025.
