Jennifer Lawrence is poking fun at her Hollywood past and she’s not holding back. While promoting her upcoming film Die My Love alongside Robert Pattinson, the Oscar-winning actress joked that the experience felt like “total revenge” after she was once rejected from Twilight.

Speaking at the New York premiere, Lawrence laughed about the full-circle moment, referencing her early audition for the vampire franchise that famously made Pattinson a household name. “I actually auditioned for Twilight,” she said, recalling that the casting team dismissed her immediately. “I didn’t even get a callback. So, yeah, this feels like revenge.”

The joke quickly went viral across social media, with fans amused by the irony. “Jennifer Lawrence finally got her Twilight redemption arc,” one user wrote on X, while another said, “Imagine rejecting her and then she ends up starring opposite Robert Pattinson years later, iconic.”

Die My Love, directed by Lynne Ramsay, stars Lawrence and Pattinson as a couple navigating mental illness and isolation in rural France. The film has already drawn early acclaim on the festival circuit and is set for a wide release on 7 November 2025.

Lawrence’s candid sense of humour is nothing new. The actress, who has spoken openly about rejection and resilience in Hollywood, told Variety that she doesn’t hold any grudges about losing the Twilight role. “If I’d been cast, maybe my whole career would’ve been different,” she said. “I’m happy it turned out this way.”

The online reaction to her comment has kept both her name and the film trending, with fans revisiting old Twilight audition trivia and sharing nostalgic clips. Pattinson, who famously played Edward Cullen, has not yet commented on Lawrence’s joke, though fans are hoping for a playful response before the film’s release.
