Permanent 'Sailor Moon' stage theatre to open in Tokyo’s Shinagawa Prince Hotel in 2026
New permanent 'Sailor Moon' stage theatre will open in Tokyo’s Shinagawa Prince Hotel in April 2026

A new permanent Sailor Moon stage theatre has been announced for Tokyo, giving fans a dedicated space to experience live performances inspired by the iconic anime and manga series.
Titled the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Shining Theatre Shinagawa Tokyo, the venue will open in April 2026 within the Shinagawa Prince Hotel complex.
The site, a renovation and rebranding of the existing Club eX theatre, is a short walk from Shinagawa Station, which connects central Tokyo with Kyoto and Osaka via the Tokaido Shinkansen line.
Producers have promised a large-scale production featuring all ten Sailor Senshi. While the venue will not operate as a full restaurant, unlike the former Shining Moon Tokyo venue, themed drinks based on the Sailor Moon franchise will be available for guests.
The new theatre follows the closure of Shining Moon Tokyo, a Sailor Moon-themed restaurant and live show venue that opened in Azabu Juban in 2019.
The restaurant gained early enthusiasm from fans in Japan and abroad but was forced to close permanently in 2020 due to restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic.
The reopening under a new concept is seen as a fresh opportunity to continue the series’ legacy through live entertainment. The official website states that tickets will be available to both domestic and international visitors, addressing a long-standing challenge for overseas fans seeking to attend events in Japan.
Early concept designs for the venue show a modern, immersive setting designed to reflect the Sailor Moon universe.
With Japan’s inbound tourism on the rise, the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Shining Theatre Shinagawa Tokyo aims to welcome global audiences to a new era of live Sailor Moon performances.
