Lana Del Rey may finally be getting her long-awaited chance to contribute a James Bond theme song — this time, not for a film, but for the upcoming video game 007: First Light.

According to fan discoveries shared on Reddit, a new song titled 'First Light' has been registered with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) under Del Rey’s real name, Elizabeth Grant. The registration also lists Universal Music Corporation as the publisher, sparking speculation that the track is tied to IO Interactive’s highly anticipated Bond game, set to release on March 27, 2026.

While no official confirmation links the song to the game, the timing and matching title have raised eyebrows among fans. The theory gained further traction due to Del Rey’s past connection to the Bond franchise. In 2015, her track '24' — later featured on her album Honeymoon — was rumored to have been a contender for Spectre's theme song before Sam Smith’s 'Writing’s on the Wall' was ultimately selected. In a 2024 interview with BBC News, Del Rey confirmed, “I wrote that for them,” referring to Spectre.

The possibility of Del Rey creating an official Bond theme now appears more plausible than ever. IO Interactive, known for the Hitman series, is developing 007: First Light as a major revival of the Bond video game franchise. Like the films, past Bond games such as Nightfire and Everything or Nothing featured original songs by notable artists, making a theme song for First Light highly likely.

Some fans have also speculated the song might belong to Del Rey’s upcoming album, Stove, expected in early 2026. However, with the game’s release approaching and Del Rey’s previous brush with the Bond universe, many believe this could be her long-awaited Bond moment.
