During a New York Comic-Con panel on October 10, Nas and DJ Premier joined fellow Legend Has It artists—including De La Soul’s Posdnuos and Maseo, Slick Rick, Ghostface Killah, and Raekwon—to discuss their ongoing partnership with Marvel Comics and share details about upcoming releases. While the Nas and DJ Premier collaborative album is scheduled for December, no official title or exact release date has been announced yet. The project marks the continuation of their celebrated partnership and has generated significant buzz among hip-hop fans.
Meanwhile, De La Soul’s new album Cabin In The Sky will arrive in November. The title pays homage to the 1943 all-Black musical film of the same name and serves as a heartfelt tribute to the late Trugoy The Dove. “We’re working and working [on the album], and I come across this movie,” Posdnuos said at the panel. “And I’m like, ‘Yo, this title is crazy!’ Cabin in the Sky. Immediately, I felt Dave.”
Big L’s Harlem’s Finest: Return Of The King will drop on October 31, marking a full-circle celebration of his legacy. In a statement, his family emphasized the care taken to restore his music properly, noting that many older releases had issues with sound quality and rights. The upcoming album will feature remastered tracks, rare freestyles, and new surprises curated in collaboration with Mass Appeal.
