A new Jumanji film is officially moving forward, with production scheduled to begin in Los Angeles this November.

Director Jake Kasdan returns to lead the project, continuing his work on the modern installments of Sony’s long-running adventure series. Returning cast members include Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan.

New additions to the ensemble include Brittany O’Grady, known for The White Lotus, and Burn Gorman, who recently appeared in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

The upcoming sequel is produced by Matt Tolmach, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Johnson, with a screenplay by Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. The film is slated for release on December 11, 2026.

Based on Chris Van Allsburg’s 1981 book, Jumanji was first adapted into the 1995 film starring Robin Williams. The franchise was revived in 2017 with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and followed by The Next Level in 2019, both directed by Kasdan.

Further plot and character details for the new installment have not been disclosed.
