Freida Parton, sister of country music icon Dolly Parton, has publicly asked fans to join her in prayer following Dolly’s recent announcement of health-related show postponements. In a heartfelt Facebook post shared on Tuesday, October 7, Freida revealed she had been awake all night praying for her 79-year-old sister, urging fans around the world to become "prayer warriors."

“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly,” she wrote. “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to pray with me.” Freida expressed confidence in Dolly’s resilience, adding, “She’s strong, she’s loved… and I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine.”

Dolly Parton announced on September 28 that she would be postponing her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency due to ongoing health issues that require medical procedures. The shows were originally scheduled to begin in December 2025 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, marking Dolly’s first extended engagement in Las Vegas in over three decades. The residency has now been rescheduled for September 2026.

In her statement, Dolly wrote, “As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures… It must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up.” While she attempted to lighten the mood with humor, Dolly explained that the recovery time would prevent her from putting together the kind of show her fans expect. “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you,” she added.

Despite the setback, Dolly reassured fans that she has no plans to step away from music entirely. “God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she wrote, “but I believe He is telling me to slow down.”

The news comes during a challenging year for the music legend, who earlier announced the passing of her husband of 58 years, Carl Dean, in March.
