A child’s enthusiastic reaction to seeing Dolly Parton at Dollywood has gone viral across TikTok and Reddit.
The clip, originally shared by TikTok user Jordan April Ramey in March, shows the child waving his arms and shouting “Oh my God” as Parton passes by in a carriage during a Dollywood event. Parton spots the child and points to him, prompting louder cheers.
The TikTok video was captioned, “Please Watch! Our 8 year old seeing @Dolly Parton for the first time!” using hashtags including #passholderday and #superfan. At the time of posting, the video had gained 6.6 million views and 1.5 million likes on TikTok.
Over the weekend, TikTok account @the615house shared the clip again, adding, “Honestly everyone else is underreacting.” The repost has since received over 619,800 views, 80,800 likes, and more than 370 comments.
The video was also posted to Reddit, where user u/jlovelysoul described the child’s reaction to seeing the 10-time Grammy Award winner as “the only appropriate reaction.”
The post received 24,000 upvotes and over 250 comments, with other users echoing similar sentiments, calling the moment “incredibly valid” and praising the child’s excitement.
Dollywood, located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is the state’s most-visited tourist attraction and has long been associated with Parton, who partnered with the Herschend Brothers in the 1980s to transform the park.
Parton’s upcoming book, Star of the Show: My Life on Stage, is set for release on 11 November 11, sharing stories and photos from her career.
