Tate McRae had a four-word emotional reaction after pop superstar Taylor Swift praised her latest single “TFT” during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Swift, who was on the show promoting her new album The Life of A Showgirl, mentioned the track during a rapid-fire round of questions from Fallon.

When asked about the last song she had listened to, Swift enthusiastically responded, “You got to listen to it. I have it full volume, over and over again, on repeat. It’s so good,” referring to McRae’s September single “TFT” (short for Tit For Tat).

The 20-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter, known for hits like You Broke Me First, quickly responded by reposting the clip on her Instagram Stories with an overjoyed caption:
"Oh my godddddddddd 😭😭😭😭😭😭 whaaaaaaaaaaat."

This is not the first time Swift has publicly praised McRae. During a recent interview on The Morning Mash Up, Swift listed McRae among the three artists she’s been “constantly streaming,” alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Sombr. Her support has further spotlighted McRae’s growing presence in pop music.

Swift also shared other personal insights during her Fallon interview, revealing that she kept her latest album a secret for over a year. She likened the experience to holding onto a surprise Christmas gift, and also opened up about her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce, saying he had designed her ring in advance with a custom jeweler.

“TFT,” released on September 26, 2025, sparked fan speculation about its inspiration, with many wondering if it was a response to The Kid LAROI’s A COLD PLAY. However, neither McRae nor LAROI have confirmed any connection.

With Swift’s endorsement, “TFT” has gained renewed attention, marking another milestone in Tate McRae’s rising career.
