Brett Goldstein's dating life back in spotlight as Jennifer Lopez chemistry fuels romance rumours

Brett Goldstein’s love life has become the subject of intense public interest following growing speculation about his chemistry with Jennifer Lopez during the promotion of their upcoming Netflix rom-com Office Romance.

The Ted Lasso star and Lopez have sparked dating rumours in recent weeks after appearing especially close during red carpet appearances, interviews and promotional events for the film. Fans quickly began speculating that their on-screen romance may have extended off-screen after the pair were photographed laughing, embracing and posing affectionately together at multiple events.

Rumours intensified after reports claimed the pair were “very touchy-feely” while filming Office Romance in the Dominican Republic, with insiders alleging their chemistry was obvious to cast and crew members.

However, neither Goldstein nor Lopez has confirmed a relationship. In fact, Lopez recently stated during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that she is currently single and enjoying this chapter of her life following her divorce from Ben Affleck, which was finalised in January 2025.

Goldstein, meanwhile, has historically kept his dating life extremely private. The British actor, comedian and writer rarely discusses relationships publicly and has largely avoided the celebrity dating spotlight despite his growing fame from Ted Lasso and Shrinking. Previous reports linked him to comedian Beth Rylance, though Goldstein never publicly spoke in depth about the relationship.

The renewed attention comes as Goldstein experiences a major career moment. Alongside starring opposite Lopez in Office Romance, he also co-wrote the film specifically with Lopez in mind for the lead role.

During recent interviews, both stars have openly praised each other. Lopez described Goldstein as unexpectedly “sweet” compared to his gruff Roy Kent persona, while Goldstein admitted he had long admired Lopez before working with her.

Their flirtatious press tour has inevitably fuelled speculation online, although some reports have suggested the chemistry may simply be part of the film’s romantic marketing campaign ahead of its Netflix release on 5 June.
