Ozzy Osbourne shared a heartfelt conversation with wife Sharon just days before his death, captured in the BBC documentary Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home.
Filmed across three years, the program documented the couple’s return to England after more than two decades in Los Angeles.
The emotional moment was recorded at their countryside home in Buckinghamshire, five days after Ozzy’s final Black Sabbath performance at Villa Park. When Sharon asked what he was most looking forward to, the 76-year-old rocker replied with humor, “Doing absolutely nothing.” He then added a more touching sentiment: “Being with you, Sharon… just being with you. We don’t have to be on phones to agents and things. I’m retiring from public life.”
The pair, married for 43 years, exchanged laughter and affection, with Ozzy even joking about planting a vegetable garden and teasing Sharon about growing cannabis. Their bond was underscored when Sharon told him she loved him, and Ozzy replied, “Love you more.”
Two weeks after the final filming session, Ozzy died at home on July 22, surrounded by his loved ones. The documentary also showed the singer reflecting on mortality, revealing that he no longer feared death despite years of health struggles, including Parkinson’s disease.
The program highlighted the couple’s deeply personal journey, their decision to leave their children and grandchildren in the U.S., and Ozzy’s candid thoughts on life, death, and retirement. His final words to Sharon now stand as a moving testament to their enduring relationship and his lasting legacy in rock history.
