A recent leak may have revealed the first look at the costumes in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, including designs for returning X-Men heroes. The leak surfaced after production officially wrapped, when a UK-based makeup artist, Giovanna Ponci, shared an image of a gift bag given to crew members. The bag featured a collage of characters from the film, offering a potential preview of their on-screen appearances.
The image suggests the X-Men will wear classic, comic-inspired costumes. Cyclops appears in his recognizable blue-and-yellow suit with a red visor, while Beast and Mystique also resemble their traditional comic counterparts. Mystique, notably, seems to have a consistent white-and-black outfit rather than the nude look often used in earlier films. Nightcrawler’s look also leans into his comic design, replacing the trench coat seen in X2. Magneto may also be depicted, though his image is partly obscured in the photo.
Other Marvel characters appear to retain familiar designs, though with minor updates. Thor’s look seems only slightly altered, while Namor is shown with a black vest and popped collar. The bag also includes an older version of Franklin Richards, the child introduced in the Fantastic Four post-credits scene, hinting at a larger role.
While the source appears credible, ComicBook.com cautions that the designs should be treated with skepticism. Marvel has been known to modify costumes before final release, and leaks are not always reliable.
Marvel has yet to provide an official reveal. Speculation suggests the first teaser may arrive in December 2025, potentially alongside Avatar: Fire and Ash. If not, marketing may begin in mid-2026 ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026.
