A Taylor Swift fan event in Florida has been cancelled after organisers revealed they were scammed by someone posing as management for the singer’s backup dancer Kam Saunders.
The Lake Mary Pub and Tiki Bar had promoted “Taylor Weekend 2025,” scheduled for October 3–5, with flyers advertising music, themed activities and a special appearance by Saunders.
Tickets ranged from $225 for general entry to $300 for a meet and greet. The event was described online as “a weekend packed with music, fun, and magical moments celebrating everything Taylor Swift.”
However, Saunders later denied any involvement, writing on Instagram: “I am not associated with this event, nor have I ever been. I will not be in Orlando for any of the aforementioned things. I am so sorry to any of you who have paid your money with such high hopes of my being in attendance, but that is not the case.” He warned fans to treat any unauthorised posts about him as scams.
In response, the event’s organisers stated they had signed a contract and paid a deposit to someone they believed was acting as Saunders’ representative.
Event coordinator Tiffany Jeffords told WFTV9 she had paid $12,000 for the guest booking, alongside an additional $10,000 in other deposits. The bar confirmed that the event was cancelled and that Eventbrite would issue refunds.
The Lake Mary Pub has said it is working with law enforcement, claiming Jeffords was targeted by scammers. The situation has since gone viral on TikTok and local news outlets, with attendees expressing sympathy for both fans and organisers.
The cancellation has drawn comparisons to previous viral fan event controversies, where promised experiences failed to match expectations.
