Supergiant Games has confirmed that Hades 2 will leave early access and launch its full version 1.0 on September 25 2025.

The announcement came during the latest September Nintendo Direct, which also unveiled the new launch trailer featuring protagonist Melinoë continuing her battle against Chronos.

The update marks the first full release of the sequel, which entered early access in May 2024. Since then, Supergiant has been refining the game with community feedback.

The studio described the release as “the biggest game we’ve ever made, and one we hope you’ll find to be a worthy successor to its namesake.”

Hades 2 version 1.0 introduces cross-save functionality between PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, allowing players to continue their progress across platforms.

For those who already own the early access edition, the update will be free. The purchase price for new players will remain unchanged.

Supergiant emphasised the significance of the sequel, noting: “Hades II is our team’s first-ever sequel, and we’ve been giving it everything we’ve got for more than four and a half years.”

As with the original Hades, the sequel follows a roguelike structure with adaptive storytelling. Players take control of Melinoë as she navigates battles “beyond the underworld” in her war against the god of time.

Hades 2 has already built a strong following during its early access period. The full release aims to deliver expanded content and polish, bringing the game to its intended scope while maintaining the roguelike depth that made its predecessor one of the most acclaimed titles in the genre.

Hades 2 launches worldwide on September 25 for PC and Nintendo Switch platforms.
