Ethan Jamieson, known for his role in the 2012 film The Hunger Games, has been arrested in Raleigh, North Carolina, on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

According to a spokesperson for the Raleigh Police Department, the 27-year-old was taken into custody following an incident reported on March 22 at approximately 9:52 p.m. local time.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire and located a victim who stated that an unknown suspect on an e-bike had fired at their vehicle while it was in motion.

“Upon arrival, officers located the victim, who reported that an unknown suspect riding an e-bike had fired a shot at their vehicle while they were driving,” the spokesperson said.

“Two additional occupants were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. During the course of the investigation, detectives identified [Jamieson] as the individual who discharged a single gunshot in the direction of the victims’ vehicle.”

Jamieson now faces three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, with intent to kill. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 30.

Records indicate this is his second arrest within a year, following a previous charge on March 21 2025 for resisting a public officer. Representation for Jamieson did not respond to requests for comment.

Jamieson is recognised by audiences for portraying a District 4 tribute in The Hunger Games, which starred Jennifer Lawrence. The character was eliminated during the Cornucopia sequence early in the film.

At the time of the film’s release, Jamieson commented on its success, stating he did not expect it “to be so big.” Reflecting on fan interactions, he said, “I thought that was pretty awesome.”
