Kanye West has been ordered by a Los Angeles judge to sit for a deposition within 30 days in connection to an ongoing lawsuit involving his private school, Donda Academy. The ruling comes after multiple unsuccessful attempts by the plaintiff, Trevor Phillips, to secure West’s participation in the legal proceedings, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

The lawsuit, filed in April 2024, alleges that West fostered a hostile and discriminatory work environment at the now-defunct school. Phillips, a former employee, accuses the rapper of harassment and claims that he witnessed and was subjected to deeply inappropriate conduct during his time at the academy.

In the legal filing, Phillips describes West’s behavior as erratic and discriminatory, alleging that the rapper "spewed hate, professed antisemitic tropes and lies, threatened the LGBTQ+ community," and at one point, "almost sexually stimulated himself." He also cited West’s controversial activity on social media as further evidence of a pattern of misconduct.

Phillips, who is Black, claims he experienced racial discrimination while working at Donda Academy. He alleges that West routinely berated Black employees during class hours while refraining from raising his voice at white staff members. “Often, Kanye targeted Phillips — a Black man — not just with this disparate and harassing behavior, but complete and utter disdain,” the lawsuit states.

Despite repeated efforts to arrange West’s deposition, no confirmed date has been set for his appearance. His eventual testimony is expected to address the full scope of the allegations and could have significant implications for both the legal case and his public image.

As the case progresses, West’s response under oath may play a critical role in determining the outcome of the lawsuit and shaping future scrutiny of his ventures.
