Insomniac Games’ long-awaited Marvel’s Wolverine could finally receive its first full trailer later this month, according to a new report.
The title, first announced at the PlayStation Showcase in 2021, has had little in the way of official updates since its teaser reveal.
However, Insider Gaming now reports that Wolverine is “almost certainly” set to feature at Sony’s upcoming State of Play event, scheduled for late September 2025.
“If the game doesn’t appear at State of Play, then the trailer will undoubtedly be released in the next few months, with The Game Awards being the next likely candidate,” the outlet stated.
Development of the game faced disruption following a ransomware attack on Insomniac in December 2023, which resulted in employee information and leaked gameplay footage being shared online. The studio confirmed at the time that the project would continue despite the setback.
“We want everyone to enjoy the games we develop as intended and as our players deserve,” Insomniac said following the leak.
“Marvel’s Wolverine continues as planned. The game is in early production and will no doubt greatly evolve throughout development.”
Reports suggest the game will carry a “hard” M-rating, focusing on violent combat, fitting the character’s nature.
While it may not follow a fully open-world format like Insomniac’s Spider-Man series, it is expected to include expansive areas similar to other major PlayStation exclusives.
Marvel’s Wolverine will mark the first solo outing for the character in many years and is widely expected to launch as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, although this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Fans will be watching Sony’s showcase closely later this month to see whether Logan finally steps into the spotlight.
