Justin Herbert’s win over Chiefs prompts fans crediting Madison Beer romance

Justin Herbert’s standout performance in the Los Angeles Chargers’ season opener has coincided with growing speculation about his reported romance with singer Madison Beer.

The quarterback led the Chargers to a 27-21 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo on Friday, ending a seven-game losing streak to their AFC West rivals. Herbert threw for 318 yards, recorded three touchdowns, and achieved a passer rating of 131.7 in a performance that quickly caught attention online.

Fans on social media were quick to link Herbert’s recent form to his reported relationship with Beer, who has been seen with the quarterback in Los Angeles multiple times over the past month.

One post on X shared Herbert’s statistics alongside the caption, “The Madison Beer boost.” Another read, “Justin Herbert started dating Madison Beer and started acting totally DIFFERENT.”

Some fans suggested light-heartedly that Beer had played a role in the quarterback’s form, with one noting, “Justin Herbert can thank Madison Beer for his performance.”

Neither Herbert nor Beer has addressed the dating speculation publicly. Beer was previously in a relationship with TikTok personality Nick Austin.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan in April, she described that relationship as “intense and fun,” noting that the pair had been together for four years.

For Herbert, Friday’s win marked not only an end to the Chargers’ losing streak against the Chiefs but also a strong personal start to the new NFL season.

The team will now look to build on the momentum of their opener as Herbert continues to draw attention both on and off the field.
