Kate Middleton’s latest public appearance has sparked intense debate after she unveiled blonde hair for the first time as a working royal.
The Princess of Wales stepped out alongside Prince William at the opening of the Natural History Museum’s newly transformed gardens on September 4, drawing attention for her noticeably lighter locks styled in a bouncy blowout with soft curls.
While some fans praised her refreshed look, others questioned whether it was her real hair. Others came to her defence, arguing that her hair is genuine but enhanced.
A Brooklyn-based custom wig specialist weighed in on the speculation, explaining that the Princess likely wore a topper at the back combined with extensions, which may have caused uneven weight distribution and contributed to the unusual look. The expert noted that the front of her hair appeared to be her own natural strands.
The hairstyle comes after a difficult year for the Princess, who announced in January that she had completed her cancer treatment. “It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery,” she shared at the time.
Palace insiders have since stated that while Kate has resumed some duties, she continues to struggle with fatigue and adjusting to public life again.
