HBO’s The White Lotus has selected France as the setting for its highly anticipated fourth season, with multiple Four Seasons properties being considered as filming locations.
The hit anthology series, created by Mike White, has consistently partnered with the Four Seasons hotel chain, which serves as the backdrop for the fictional White Lotus resorts. According to sources, potential venues include the iconic Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat on the French Riviera, the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, and the Four Seasons Hotel Megève in the French Alps.
While speculation has centered on Cap-Ferrat due to its proximity to Cannes and Hollywood ties, insiders note that production often spans multiple luxury resorts. Season 3, set in Thailand, used the Four Seasons Koh Samui along with three other high-end properties.
If selected, the Cap-Ferrat would maintain the show’s tradition of coastal luxury settings, following Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand in earlier seasons. However, Megève would present a stark shift to a winter resort backdrop, which may prove unlikely given White’s past remarks about disliking cold-weather settings. Paris, meanwhile, would bring the series into an urban landscape for the first time.
Earlier this year, Deadline reported that White and HBO executives had postponed European location scouting from spring to summer after the show’s third season wrapped. The White Lotus season 3 earned 23 Emmy nominations, further heightening expectations for its French chapter.
HBO has not commented on the confirmed location, but production is expected to begin in 2025.
