Cardi B confronts pregnancy rumor outside court amid civil assault trial

Cardi B sparked headlines outside a Los Angeles courthouse this week after angrily confronting a man who asked about rumors that she is pregnant.

The Grammy-winning rapper, 32, is currently facing a civil assault trial tied to an alleged 2018 altercation with a security guard.

Video obtained by the Daily Mail shows Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, throwing a pen toward the onlooker after he questioned her about speculation that she may be expecting a fourth child with ex-husband Offset. The rapper, now dating NFL player Stefon Diggs, quickly fired back: “That’s for disrespecting me. Don’t disrespect me.”

The civil case stems from a lawsuit filed in 2020 by security guard Emani Ellis, who claims Cardi assaulted her outside a Beverly Hills obstetrician’s office while she was pregnant with her first child, Kulture. Ellis alleges the rapper struck her, spat on her, and cut her face with a fingernail. Cardi has denied physical violence, though she admitted to calling Ellis a derogatory name.

Court testimony has drawn viral attention on social media, with Cardi delivering sarcastic responses and facial expressions that have been widely shared. At one point, she dismissed a question about her hairstyle, laughing as she confirmed she was wearing a wig.

Ellis testified that Cardi body-shamed her and spat on her, while Cardi insists the confrontation was verbal only. The lawsuit accuses Cardi of assault, battery, and infliction of emotional distress.

The trial continues as Cardi maintains her innocence, while her courtroom behavior has kept her at the center of online debate.
