Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a 25% discount on tickets for passengers travelling from Paris to Pakistan, with bookings open until August 31, 2025, for travel between August 25 and September 28.
The discount also applies to connecting routes with Air France across Europe and the United Kingdom.
The airline confirmed it will discontinue its Lahore–Paris service due to low demand, with the final flights scheduled for September 12 and 17.
The Islamabad–Paris route will remain in operation.
Earlier, PIA launched direct flights from Lahore to Baku, Azerbaijan, as part of its efforts to expand international routes and promote tourism.
Flight PK-159 departed from Lahore with 152 passengers on board. A brief ceremony was held at the airport, attended by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov, and senior aviation officials.
Asif said the route was part of PIA’s strategy to broaden its network and strengthen ties with Azerbaijan, noting that the airline had been recovering under reforms initiated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Earlier this month, PIA reported its first annual profit in 21 years, recording earnings per share of Rs5.01 for 2023, according to audited financial statements.
