Singer Perrie Edwards has revealed she experienced two miscarriages, including one at 24 weeks, before welcoming her son Axel.

The Little Mix star, 32, shared her story during an appearance on the We Need To Talk podcast with Paul C. Brunson.

Edwards explained that her first pregnancy ended in an early miscarriage, leaving her devastated. “I remember finding out I was pregnant, but I started bleeding not long after. At the hospital, they told me there was no baby,” she said.

The singer later became pregnant again while rehearsing for Little Mix’s final tour in 2022. However, at what was supposed to be her 20-week scan, Edwards and fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were told their baby no longer had a heartbeat. “It was the worst day of my life,” she recalled, adding that the couple lost the pregnancy at around 24 weeks.

Despite the heartbreak, Edwards went on to have her son Axel in August 2021. She described him as a “rainbow baby,” a term used for children born following a previous loss. “When I was pregnant with Axel, it was one of the happiest times of my life. But I was always apprehensive because of what I’d been through,” she said.

Edwards, who sold more than 75 million records worldwide with Little Mix, is now pursuing a solo career. Alongside her personal challenges, she reflected on the pressures of fame, her past relationship with Zayn Malik, and her current supportive partnership with footballer Oxlade-Chamberlain, with whom she became engaged in 2022.

Her candid account has drawn praise for shedding light on the struggles many women face with pregnancy loss.
