Lindsay Lohan has revealed why she chooses to raise her family in Dubai instead of Hollywood.
During an appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark, the Freaky Friday star shared that living in the UAE city offers her a quiet, private lifestyle with husband Bader Shammas and their two-year-old son, Luai.
“It’s just far away from Hollywood, and I live a very normal life,” Lohan said. “There’s no worry of like, ‘I can’t go eat at this place ‘cause someone’s gonna take a picture of my son.’ I feel very safe.”
Lohan highlighted a key legal difference that contributes to her comfort in Dubai: unauthorised photography in public spaces is illegal.
“You can’t take a picture of someone else if you’re in a restaurant. You have to ask the person, which is a big difference from here,” she explained. “Privacy is key.”
Since moving over a decade ago, the actress has embraced life outside the Hollywood spotlight. Though parenting comes with its challenges, Lohan remains grounded
Lohan and Shammas married in 2022 after meeting at a restaurant in Dubai.
As she juggles motherhood and prepares for the Freaky Friday sequel, she admits she’s not quite ready to swap roles with her son just yet: “He’s still a toddler.”
