Pop icon Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were spotted dining together Monday evening at the upscale Montreal restaurant Le Violon.
The two were reportedly enjoying cocktails and sharing plates, including a lobster dish, during what appeared to be an engaging conversation, according to eyewitnesses cited by TMZ.

Security detail was present during the evening, with guards observing discreetly from the bar. The chef reportedly visited the table during the meal, and both Perry and Trudeau were seen thanking the kitchen staff personally before leaving the restaurant.

Perry is currently on the Canadian leg of her tour, with shows in Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, and Toronto scheduled through early August. Her latest album 143, released in September 2024, follows her 2020 record Smile. The dinner comes during a period of personal change for the singer, who announced her split from actor Orlando Bloom earlier this year. The pair share one child together.
Trudeau, who announced his separation from wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage, stepped down as Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Party in January 2025. He remained in office until Mark Carney assumed the role.
While the nature of Perry and Trudeau’s dinner — whether romantic or platonic — remains unconfirmed, their meeting has sparked public interest. Some speculate the outing was a casual meetup between two prominent public figures, while others suggest a deeper connection may be forming.
