Snoop Dogg finally reveals who will play him in his long-awaited biopic
Snoop Dogg announced his biopic is finally happening and revealed the actor set to play him

Snoop Dogg is officially bringing his legendary rise to the big screen.
During CinemaCon 2026, the rap icon revealed that a biopic titled Snoop will arrive in theaters in 2027.
“After my brothers told their story in Straight Outta Compton, it’s my turn,” Snoop told the crowd while opening Universal Pictures’s presentation in Las Vegas.
The studio also confirmed that Jonathan Daviss has been cast to play Snoop Dogg. The film will be directed by Craig Brewer and produced by Brian Grazer, whose past credits include 8 Mile. Production is expected to take place in Los Angeles.
Snoop kept things classic with jokes and swagger, promising the movie will be rated R and teasing that a first trailer is expected next year. He also joked about already causing trouble on the Universal lot, saying firefighters had been called twice because of “smoke.”
With a major studio backing it, a rising young star in the lead role, and Snoop personally involved, Snoop is already shaping up to be one of 2027’s most anticipated music biopics.
