Veteran politician and former Punjab governor Mian Muhammad Azhar passed away on Tuesday, the PTI confirmed in an official statement.
Azhar, a senior political figure with a decades-long career in public service, was currently a PTI-backed Member of the National Assembly. The party announced his demise on X, extending condolences to his son, senior PTI leader Hammad Azhar.
In the wake of his passing, tributes poured in from political circles. Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan described Azhar as "a person of noble character" and said that his "services will be remembered for a long time".
