Grace Springer, the fan who recorded the now-famous Coldplay kiss cam clip involving Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR chief Kristin Cabot, has revealed how much she earned after the video gained nearly 125 million views on TikTok.
Speaking on the UK’s “This Morning,” she explained, “I’ve actually made no money from the video itself or the views. It’s not monetised.”
The footage, taken during Coldplay’s Spheres World Tour show at Gillette Stadium on July 16, shows Byron and Cabot reacting nervously when they appear on the big screen. Both quickly shift apart and cover their faces. From the stage, Chris Martin remarked, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” before adding, “Hope we didn’t do something wrong.”
Springer shared that she initially hoped to capture herself on camera for fun, but the unexpected moment took on a life of its own. “There was over 50,000 people at the concert… it was a hot topic,” she said. “But it wasn’t until after the concert, where I was debriefing with my friends and I said ‘Let’s review the footage… and I think it does [look bad].’”
Reflecting on the outcome, she said, “I definitely feel for Andy’s wife Megan, his family and everyone else who has been hurt in the process. But… if it wasn’t me who uploaded it, I’m sure someone else would have.”
The viral moment led to Byron’s resignation and an internal review involving Cabot. Both individuals appear to be married to other people.
