Austin Nichols has shared an encouraging update on the One Tree Hill reboot, saying the project is currently in a “healthy place.”

In a recent interview with People, he confirmed that scripts are actively in development and are being reviewed with Netflix.

The reboot, first announced in 2024, focuses on Peyton Sawyer and Brooke Davis, played by Hilarie Burton Morgan and Sophia Bush, as they navigate life decades later, exploring motherhood, grief, and rediscovery.

Bush and Burton are executive producers on the show, alongside Danneel and Jensen Ackles.

Nichols, who portrayed Julian Baker in the original series, expressed optimism about returning but noted that the process is ongoing.

While many original cast members remain unofficially attached, including Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, and Bethany Joy Lenz, fan speculation continues to grow.

No official release date has been announced, though production is expected to begin in 2025, with a possible location shift from Wilmington, North Carolina, to Los Angeles.
