Sophie Turner and Kit Harington, best known for playing siblings Sansa Stark and Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, reunite in the upcoming gothic horror film The Dreadful—but this time, as lovers.
In a recent Vogue interview, Turner admitted the romantic scenes felt “really weird” after portraying siblings for nearly a decade. “We’re doing a gothic horror… but we play lovers,” she said, adding, “Sorry, guys. It’s really weird for all of us.”
Set during the 15th-century War of the Roses—a historical conflict that inspired Game of Thrones—The Dreadful follows Anne (Turner), a reclusive woman whose quiet life is disrupted when a man from her past (Harington) reappears, triggering dark events.
Turner even suggested Harington for the role, telling The Sunday Times, “You can’t not have Kit.” Their casting adds extra meaning for longtime fans familiar with their on-screen history.
Directed by Natasha Kermani (Lucky), The Dreadful also stars Marcia Gay Harden and Laurence O’Fuarain. The film wrapped last year and is expected to release later in 2025.
