Kelly Ripa recently shared a candid and humorous take on her and Mark Consuelos' intimacy preferences during an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. The Live with Kelly and Mark host, 54, revealed that she and Consuelos, 54, often disagree on when to be intimate, with her husband preferring the deed done in the morning, a time Ripa finds less than appealing.
During the podcast, Ripa posed a question to host Amanda Hirsch: “Are you an evening person or a morning person?” Hirsch quickly replied, “Definitely not morning. Do not breathe on me in the morning.”
Ripa then explained that men, like Consuelos, tend to be “morning people” when it comes to the 'deed', which she admitted she finds “disgusting.” “I have a retainer in, I gotta rip that out,” she joked. “And he’s got his nasal strips on. It’s like we are the most repulsive, disgusting people.” Despite her aversion, Ripa noted that it’s important for both partners to find a balance, adding that while Consuelos tends to prefer early-morning intimacy, she’s firmly in the “night” camp.
Ripa went on to share that working together on their morning talk show has unexpectedly curtailed some of Consuelos’ morning preferences. "The greatest thing about this job, this thing has, like, almost repulsed him from morning time during the work week," she joked. Ripa added that she’s hoping their work schedule keeps him away from morning intimacy, even jokingly wishing, “May this show last until he suffers from erectile dysfunction!”
The couple, married for 26 years, has always been open about their relationship, which began when they met on the set of All My Children in 1994. Despite their busy careers and differing preferences, Ripa and Consuelos continue to share a strong bond. The couple has three children: Michael, Lola, and Joaquin, and they often reflect on how their relationship has evolved over the years.
In earlier interviews, Ripa has discussed how their connection grew from a deep understanding and shared sense of humor, making their dynamic both comfortable and fun.
