Netflix’s new series Better Late Than Single is giving the spotlight to those who have never dated before, with shy and introverted singles taking their first steps into the world of romance.

The dating show, now streaming on Netflix, offers a different take on the genre by focusing on those with little to no dating experience.

Better Late Than Single features individuals who have struggled to find love due to a variety of personal reasons, from studying and work commitments to feelings of social anxiety and inexperience with relationships.

Contestants include Noh Jae-yun, a 27-year-old 3D designer who has never dated, and Kang Ji-su, a 26-year-old who describes herself as a “homebody” and finds it difficult to talk to men. Kim Seung-li shares how moving abroad left him feeling isolated, while Kim Yeo-myung is looking to find love after seeing her friends pair off while she remained single.

With the guidance of hosts Seo In-guk, Lee Eun-ji, Kang Han-na, and Car, the Garden, the singles receive makeovers, advice, and the encouragement needed to build confidence in their first steps towards dating.

Better Late Than Single offers viewers a look into the genuine challenges faced by those who have yet to experience romance, bringing authenticity to the dating show format.

The series is available now on Netflix, with the next episodes arriving on July 15.
