Crackdown on illegal LPG use intensified

Dr Salma Suleman stated that the protection of human lives is paramount

Khanewal district administration has decided to accelerate the crackdown on vehicles illegally using LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinders. The task has been assigned to Civil Defence, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), and the Traffic Police. The decision was made during a level meeting held in the committee room under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Salma Suleman.

Addressing the meeting, Dr Salma Suleman stated that the protection of human lives is paramount, and no one will be allowed to run an illegal business in the district. She directed that strict action be taken against vehicles using LPG cylinders, and the cylinders of seized vehicles should not be returned to their owners.

The DC also ordered formal training for Civil Defence personnel on how to safely handle and dispose of illegal cylinders.

She directed authorities to halt LPG supply from unauthorised refilling stations.
