Popular political streamer Steven “Destiny” Bonnell sparked online buzz after mocking fellow content creator Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker over a question about his political streaming origins.
During a recent reaction stream, Destiny called it Hasan’s “nightmare question,” suggesting that the leftist Twitch star deliberately avoids acknowledging Destiny’s early support in launching his career.
HasanAbi, a former host and producer at The Young Turks, began political streaming on Twitch around 2018 after leaving the progressive media outlet. While his rise to fame has been widely credited to his charisma and online presence, Destiny claimed Hasan’s first two years in Twitch politics were “handed” to him thanks to Destiny’s initial support.
“It’s his nightmare question,” Destiny said on stream. “Okay, I gotta answer this without ever bringing up the fact that the first two years of my political career were handed to me by Destiny.”
This jab reignites long-standing tensions between the two streamers, whose feud dates back to a 2019 argument over then-presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Though both identify as left-leaning commentators, their political disagreements—and personal animosity—have played out publicly for years.
HasanAbi has yet to respond to Destiny’s latest remarks, but the clip quickly spread across social media, reigniting debates among fans about the origins of political streaming on Twitch.
Meanwhile, HasanAbi recently made headlines for claiming he was detained by U.S. Customs after returning from France, adding to a week of high visibility for the controversial creator.
The ongoing drama between Destiny and HasanAbi continues to fuel content for viewers drawn to the intersection of politics and internet personality culture.
