RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi has launched a new digital traffic challan system based on video evidence for the first time in the city.

Under the new "One App/Evidence-Based Challaning" system, video recordings of traffic violations will be preserved and made verifiable, ensuring transparency in issuing challans.

According to officials, the system will also allow on-the-spot verification of identity cards, driving licences and FIR-related records. Vehicle ownership, fitness certificates and route permits will also be verified instantly at the scene through the integrated digital system.

Authorities said digital action would also be taken against encroachments and environmental violations.
