Lana Del Rey has released her latest single, Henry, Come On, marking the first track from her upcoming 10th studio album The Right Person Will Stay, which is scheduled to arrive on May 19.

The new single, first teased in January 2024 through an Instagram audio snippet, officially launched on Thursday alongside a reshared image of the album’s cover art — a portrait of Del Rey in a lacy white dress. She tagged key collaborators including Luke Laird, Drew Erickson, and Dean Reid, as well as photographer Neil Krug and members of her glam team.

Del Rey initially announced the album in November via Instagram, saying, “So grateful that my 13 tracks came together with my beautiful work between Luke, Jack, Zach and Drew Erickson amongst others.” She added that a few songs would be released ahead of her Stagecoach Festival performance on April 25.

Originally, Del Rey was expected to release a country-themed album titled Lasso. However, she later told Vogue Italia that the direction had shifted, saying, “I might turn it into something more ‘Southern gothic,’ like it was meant to be from the start, and less country.”

Henry, Come On blends country elements with Del Rey’s signature melancholic style, leading fans to compare its emotional chorus to Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball. The lyrics reflect a definitive end to an unstable relationship, with Del Rey seemingly addressing a past lover.

Though the inspiration behind the song remains unclear, some listeners speculate it could be linked to Del Rey’s previous relationship with country singer Clayton Johnson, whom she dated between 2020 and 2021.

The Right Person Will Stay will precede a series of UK and Ireland tour dates this summer.
