RAWALPINDI:

The hearings for all 14 cases related to the May 9 incidents, including the attack on the GHQ, are unlikely to be held in Adiala Jail Court tomorrow (Saturday).

Informed sources said that no arrangements or preparations had been made at any level to conduct jail trials within Adiala Jail.

Despite the fact that Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has scheduled the hearings for these cases—particularly the GHQ attack—to be held within the jail premises, the jail administration had not been able to make the necessary arrangements due to ongoing security concerns.

Security around Adiala Jail and its surrounding areas is being further tightened.

Sources also revealed that around 1,200 individuals were accused in the 14 May 9-related cases. Bringing all these individuals before the jail court could potentially pose significant security challenges.
