“I be feeling bad about my tweet but I still feel I gave my life to this industry and thought so many people were my family but when I needed family on some real shit none of these rap n***as had my back,” he added. While Ye’s apology seemed directed toward Jay-Z, the specific tweet in question remains unclear.
Many speculated that Ye may have been referring to comments he made in March, when he took to X (formerly Twitter) to make controversial remarks about Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s children. In a post, Ye used the R-word while questioning the public’s perception of Jay and Beyoncé’s seven-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir. He later deleted the posts, explaining that he only did so to avoid being banned from the platform, not out of any moral obligation.
Despite his apology to Jay-Z, Ye did not offer any apologies to the Carter family for the earlier remarks. In another tweet, he wrote, “THERE WILL NEVER BE AN APOLOGY TO THE CARTER FAMILY UNTIL THEY HELP ME WITH MY CHILDREN,” continuing with criticisms of both Jay-Z and the Kardashians.
Ye’s public statements about Jay-Z and Beyoncé have stirred controversy in the past, including comments about their marriage made last year. In an interview shared by Candace Owens, Ye joked that Beyoncé should let Jay-Z “go get some pussy” and suggested he should travel to the Dominican Republic for a change of pace.
