Prime Video secures 'Embassy' rights, expands cast with Anna Kendrick, Sam Heughan and J.K. Simmons in thriller

Prime Video has acquired multi-territory rights to the upcoming action-thriller series Embassy, expanding its international slate with a high-profile cast led by Anna Kendrick, Sam Heughan, and J.K. Simmons, according to Deadline.
The six-part geopolitical drama will stream in the UK, Ireland, Canada, France, Australia, and New Zealand. Produced by AGC Television, Ascendant Fox, and Turbine Studios, the series is currently filming in Cologne and London.
Alongside the lead cast, new additions include Luke Treadaway, James Murray, Katie McGrath, Alexander Karim, Lydia Leonard, and several other international actors, strengthening the ensemble for the global production.
Embassy follows Layla, played by Kendrick, a sharp American diplomat forced into a life-threatening crisis when armed mercenaries storm the U.S. Embassy in London. Tasked with protecting the U.S. Ambassador, portrayed by Simmons, she must also carry out a high-stakes extraction mission under extreme pressure.
The story escalates as Layla relies on her instincts and the help of her former fiancé, Connor Wright, played by Heughan, adding emotional tension to the geopolitical thriller.
The series is created by Rom Lotan, with direction from John Strickland and Christian Alvart. Executive producers include Hester Ruoff, Bart Ruspoli, Matt Mitchell, Daniel Hetzer, Jakob Neuhausser, Justin Thomson, David Tanner, and AGC Studios’ Stuart Ford.
The acquisition reflects Prime Video’s continued investment in premium international content, as the platform strengthens its presence in the global streaming market. Embassy is expected to debut next year.
