Stray Kids’ Bang Chan has apologized after facing backlash for a comment made during the group’s Brazil concert. The K-pop star referred to Brazil as “another home,” a remark that some fans misinterpreted as “second home,” leading to division and heated debate within the fandom.
In response, Bang Chan addressed the situation through the fan interaction platform Bubble, expressing regret over the misunderstanding and asking fans—known as STAYs—to stop fighting. “I really wish STAYs would stop fighting with each other,” he wrote.
Chan also shared how the situation affected him emotionally, saying it left him feeling vulnerable. “At this point, whatever comes out of my mouth just becomes problematic,” he admitted, adding that he now feels “scared to say anything.” He reflected on how a joyful performance turned into an unexpected point of conflict among fans.
He acknowledged that jealousy may have played a role in the backlash but called it “understandable.” Despite the situation, Chan reaffirmed his commitment to loving all fans equally, though he admitted, “I feel like I’m only making fights… It’s all my fault I guess.”
