Future is riding high in 2025, having surpassed 2 billion Spotify streams and cementing his place among rap’s elite. But with the accolades comes attention — and not all of it is welcome. In a now-viral clip, the Atlanta rapper hilariously pretended to be an AI model when approached by fans in public.
Standing in a sleek black outfit and designer bag, Future kept his head covered with a stylish cloth. When a fan tried to get his attention, he quipped, “This is an AI,” before adding, “This is an AI voice,” drawing laughter from those nearby.

While the moment was clearly tongue-in-cheek, it comes at a time when AI-generated vocals and tracks have become a hot topic in music. Some fans have even speculated that Future’s recent collaborations — including "FINE S**T" on Playboi Carti’s MUSIC, and “RATHER LIE” with The Weeknd — may have leaned on AI tech, though nothing has been confirmed.
Still, the irony isn’t lost on fans. One wrote, “Future trolling us about AI when y’all say his latest songs sound like it? Genius.”
The “Mask Off” rapper has been making waves far beyond memes. He recently joined the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and Travis Scott as one of the few hip-hop acts to hit 2 billion Spotify streams in a single year.
That said, Future has remained silent amid recent drama stirred up by Kanye West, who accused him and Metro Boomin of ghosting him on the “Like That” remix. The rapper hasn’t addressed the claim — and based on his “AI” stunt, he likely won’t be answering fan questions about it anytime soon.
