
The first batch of 35 soldiers from the Military Police has completed a two-week training course aimed at enhancing their professional skills in prison management and inmate rehabilitation.
The training programme was organised at the Punjab Prisons Staff Training College in Sahiwal. Certificates were awarded to the participants at the passing-out ceremony.
The course curriculum included management of prisons in Pakistan, applicable laws and the rights of inmates.
The participants were also trained in maintaining discipline among prisoners and implementing reforms aimed at their rehabilitation and reintegration into the society as responsible citizens.
As part of practical training, the participants visited the Sahiwal Central Jail to gain firsthand experience.
Addressing the ceremony, MP Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Adnan Khalid stated that the training provided by the college would significantly enhance the professional capabilities of the Military Police personnel. He added that more courses for Military Police personnel would be conducted at the college.
Punjab Prisons Staff Training College Deputy Commandant Asghar Ali expressed confidence that the collaboration between the institution and the Pakistan Army would yield positive results in improving prison management and inmate rehabilitation across the country.
