The 2017 romantic drama Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, starring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda, will have its second theatrical release on March 7, 2025.

The film, directed by Ratnaa Sinha and written by Kamal Pandey, originally earned INR 11 crores at the box office but has since gained a cult following for its emotional storyline and memorable performances.

Kriti Kharbanda, who plays Aarti in the film, took to Instagram to announce the exciting news, sharing a message with her followers. "Love at first sight. Second time: Love all over again! Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is coming back to the big screen this Friday, March 7th, all because of your love," she wrote.

"You’ve laughed, cried, and rooted for Aarti & Sattu in the past, but now it’s time to feel it all over again, in a theatre, with popcorn in one hand and nostalgia in the other."

The film follows the journey of Satyendra (Rajkummar Rao) and Aarti (Kriti Kharbanda), whose arranged marriage leads to a series of emotional twists and personal growth. It explores themes of love, betrayal, societal expectations, and personal ambition, all set against the backdrop of a traditional Indian marriage.

The movie’s plot, which includes a significant storyline and notable musical numbers like “Thukra Ke Mera Pyaar,” has garnered a dedicated audience over time.

The re-release trend continues to gather momentum in Bollywood, with other films such as Lootera, Raanjhanaa, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and Sanam Teri Kasam also making a return to the big screen. The film’s re-release is part of an ongoing effort to revive cult classics that didn't perform well initially but have since found a devoted fanbase.

Producer Deepak Mukut, who also re-released Sanam Teri Kasam, is behind the decision to bring Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana back to cinemas. The re-release comes at a strategic time, as there are no major theatrical releases scheduled for this week, ensuring the film a clear run at the box office.
